Revlon Lipsticks

Hi Guys!
Here I am again, this time doing a quick review on my favorite Revlon Lipsticks. I would say that out of all the drugstore brands out there, Revlon is my favorite when it comes to nail and lip products. For some reason they are great value for the money you spend.
My first ever revlon lipstick was Peach from the Color Burst line. I liked it but I was not that impressed with it, so I sort of left it in the back on my drawer and didn't pay attention to it. In Peach's defense, I really was not too big on wearing lipsticks until I discovered that there are lipsticks out there that you can wear everyday and they are easy to have on all day.

After that, I kind of went on a mission to research and find wearable colors. I cannot say that I purchased them all at once, it did take me a period of at least a year to get comfortable wearing a lipstick and matching colors and all that.
Now, I have a small collection of Revlon products and I am completely in love with all of them. Some I use more than others, but I like them equally. I have to thank Kelly from Jellyminx (she has a YouTube channel as well, go check her out now!!) since I took a lot of her recommendations and I loved them

Here is a picture of the lipsticks I have. I will sort of give you a rundown of what they are. I categorize them on color.

Starting with nude, I have one and it is Nude Attitude. This is a matte finish and it is the only matte lipstick I own. It can be quite drying on the lips, but if you wear a lip balm, you should be okay.
On pinks, there's Pink in the afternoon, a creme finish, and it is the essential "my lips but better" pink color. Porcelain pink is a frost and it's sort of a more mauvy pink with shimmer. Really nice for when you want a bit of sparkle. Skyline pink is a very light frosty pink, I thought I could use this color instead of a gloss for when I want the glossy look without the stickiness.

With Reds, there's Mauvy Night which is also a creme finish and it has a mauvy wine red tint to it but still wearable. It tends to look a bit darker on my lips but nice on fall months. Love That Red is a quintessential red color if you want to achieve a 40's red lip look, very creamy and it lasts really well. Then the just mentioned Peach, which I still love for summer even though I don't reach for it that often
My favorite lipstick ever is Soft Rose from the Colorburst line, and it is a muted red with a brown undertone. It is amazing! every time I wear this lipstick I feel like I can take on the world! super, really recommend you try it.

And my latest acquisition, one of the lip butters in Raspberry Pie. Absolutely way more pigmented than a tinted lip balm, I will like to try more of the colors but they are sold out everywhere I go!

Here is a picture of what they look like on my skin in day light

And.. with a flash....

Hope you enjoyed guys, and that it was somewhat useful! See you next time =)

Drugstore Foundations for Oily Skin.

In an attempt to maybe help those people that have the same skin problem that I have, I thought I would share the different foundations that you can find on drugstores for oily skins.
I just recently learned that there was a classification to the types of skin and different products you should use for them. I never knew that girls with dry skin could go for a dewy finish while us girls with oily skin had to go for a matte finish to hide the oils away.
Ever since I learned this, I have been on a mission to find foundations that keep a matte face but that are not so hurtful to my pocket. This is what I have found so far:

Starting with Maybelline Super Stay 24 foundation. I was impressed by the TV commercials of this foundation when it first came out to the market. It claimed to have a flexible formula that moved with your skin and prevented it from looking cakey or streaky. Without even knowing that it could work for oily skin, I went and purchased it. Now, I have to say that I was impressed when I first used it. It does have a think consistency but it did not look cakey on me at all, a problem that I often have! I tried it on for a couple of months, but then I started to notice that by the end of the day, it would accumulate around the pores around my nose and forehead, it just looked oily and did not last matte on my skin.

I then researched for a good drugstore matte foundation and I found the Dream Matte Mouse Foundation, also from Maybelline. It is really matte! And it left me matte most of the day. Unfortunately, I had the same problem as the Super Stay, in that it clogged the pores around my nose and it seemed to move around as the day passed by, even if I had set it with powder.

Next, I went on to Rimmel. I saw a video on YouTube from The Make Up Chair where she talked about a great foundation that looked great and all types of lightning. I was particularly interested because I had noticed throughout the day, that some foundations oxidized on me and created a difference in skin tone where I had not taken the time to blend properly. This foundation is very light in texture and coverage. Probably not as much coverage as I would like, since I do need a lot, but I can use it on days where my skin feels better than other days. It is a bit dark for me, but it looks fine if I blend it.

After hearing so much about the next foundation, I had to try it! I recently went traveling during the holidays and I had a chance to pick it up. It is the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation. The color is number 53, which is not the lightest but it was the lightest they had at the store I went to. It is amazing, it has the best smell, the best texture and if I mix it with a foundation of a lighter color and blend it, it matches my skin perfectly. It did not stay matte on my skin all day but for occasions when you don’t want to feel like you have tons of make up on, I totally recommend it!

My favorite of all time and the one foundation I have been using lately, is the Revlon ColorStay for Combination and Oily Skin. This is the only drugstore foundation that I have found to be targeted to oily skins and it actually works! It keeps my skin matte all day, it has very impressive lasting power and even though it is thicker than most, it gives great coverage that is reliable! I love all Revlon products, to be honest, so if you have extremely oily skin, then definitely check this one out!

I have also been trying another foundation, which is not drugstore but I thought I will give you some insight. It is the Make Up Forever HD Foundation. I was curious to try it so I splurged $40.00 and purchased it! It is so light and it goes very smoothly on the skin, it blends beautifully. I have to use a primer underneath it to make it last longer but even though I have only used it a few times, I am impressed!

Thank you for reading my loooooooooong post!
Have a great week!

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to my first blog post ever! Thank you for taking the time to read my random comments and opinions about things. This is a blog about beauty things, if you haven't already noticed by the 'in your face' title!
Let me just give you a little bit of background information about mebefore I starting rambling about products. I was always one of those girls that really did not care if I was wearing make up or not. I was never a girly girl when I was little. I found myself spending most of my time outside the house, playing with mud and getting dirty, driving my mother crazy, of course!

After hitting that time of your life when you start liking boys, I figured that it couldn't hurt if I learned a little about make up. My sister was always an expert, so I always went to her for help and advice on how to do things. Most of the time, I would go into the room and steal her makeup (sorry sis!) Just because I never knew what to buy when I would go to the stores.

Everything comes with time so when my skin started to act up on me and I noticed that I had to start covering up to look NORMAL, then I found an interest for these things. Make up just makes me feel better, it's like my safety blanket while I'm out on this cruel, cruel world! =) And yes, I have been the victim to dark foundations that were not blended right through my neck and blue eye shadow with red lips (ouch!) but I learned a lot and I was hoping to share my opinions with other people.
Hope I did not bore you to death! I will do some reviews on my favorite drugstore foundations for oily skin soon! See you later! xxx
